Gary the Giraffe

Rogie loves to suck on and chew fabric/soft things and has destroyed many a blanket/throw that way.  I bought a new throw for my sofa and figured rather than having Rogie chew it up (defeating the purpose of it keeping me warm, as it eventually looks like swiss cheese), I'd get him a soft dog toy.  Now I've tried this in the past unsuccessfully.  Rogie loves them, BUT if you know Rogie, you know his chewing skills and that a soft toy typically lasts less than 5 minutes before it is chewed up and I am scared that he has ingested half of it.  However... I saw Gary the Giraffe in one of the dog catalogs I get and figured it might work,and the body part is flat without stuffing for me to worry about him ingesting.

Mmmm arms taste good

It was soooo sweet Rogie loved Gary so much that I couldn't get him to leave him in the living room when it was time to go to bed!  I literally had to pry him out of Rogie's mouth and put him on the floor so we could go to sleep.  I've never seen him like this with any toy, even his beloved rubber balls!

 Over the next 2 days Rogie and Gary were never apart, except when I was at work when Rogie had to stay in the kitchen sans toys (for safety).  The chewing continued and became gnawing...

But no Gary isn't dead,  at least not in Rogie's eyes, his head and body are too much fun to chew and play with!

Seriously sick!

So now, two months later, Gary's head and body are still Rogie's preferred toy, and though a bit more worn, he still remarkable has all of his arms and legs attached, if only by a thread or two.  But MOST importantly, I have a blanket with no holes to keep me cozy and warm!
