Liana Brooke

Kara, Todd, and Jack welcomed a new little girl into the family on February 2nd. Liana Brooke Gordon weighed 6 lbs, 3 oz and was 18 inches long. I was lucky enough to be able to be up in Boston for her arrival and to spend almost two weeks helping out and spending time with everyone.

Day One: 2/2/10

Welcome to the world Liana!

Kara is in shock that it is a girl!
"She She" already loves you!
Me Me and Grandpa were here to share the simcha too!
Grandma, Papa, Allison, and Daddy
Day 2: When Kara is pregnant, she and Todd always refer to the baby as a type of seed (Jack was "Sesame"). So until her birth Liana was known to all as "Pumpkin Seed". I of course could not pass up buying a pumpkin hat this fall in anticipation of our pumpkin season. Here's Pumpkin Liana in her hat.

Aunt Susan sneaks in a snuggle

Kvelling a bit...

Love you K!!!

Pumpkin Pie!
Proud GrandparentsJack came to meet his new little sister. He was great with her and even helped give her a bottle.

Then played on Mommy's hospital bed, Jack being Jack!
Oh boy, is this what I have to go home to....Day 3: More visiting and snuggle time

It's a hard life!
Paging Dr. McCutie

After nap Jack and I got to spend some special quality time, just the two of us, and I was able to give him his birthday present, Pop Up Pirate. This is a game that is a favorite among all of the kids and therapists at work and I knew Jack would love it to!

I also taught Jack a little anatomy lesson during dinner...

What a smile!

Day 4: Today was Friday and Jack was honored with being "Shabbat Boy" at school. This means that his family gets to come in and read a story and celebrate Shabbat by lighting the candles and saying the blessings over the candles, wine (grape juice), and challah. I got to go in with Todd as Kara is still in the hospital :)

Todd read one of Jack's favorite books, Curious George and the Firefighters

Shabbat Shalom

Day 5: Kara and Liana come home!!! Jack and I made a welcome home sign for them :)
